Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates for the above post should acquire the following:
- Good honors degree in accounting or its equivalent with at least 15 years, cognate Experience plus registration with relevant professional bodies or master degree accounting or finance with at least 12 years cognate plus registration with relevant professional bodies,
- Computer literacy is an added advantage
(2) Position: Librarian (HATISS 14)
- The Librarian shall be responsible for the supervision of staff, stock and readers
- He/ She is an charge of the day library staff training and other Policies-
- To serve as a link between the Polytechnic and other agencies within and outside the country
- Responsible to the Rector
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates for the above post should posses the following:
- Master Degree in library Science with 12 years cognate Experience or a holder of PhD in library Science with 10 years cognate experience
- Proving ability for applied research and productive work plus industrial experience,
- Registration with relevant Professional bodies.
- Computer literacy with be an added advantage.

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT:PROJECT ACCOUNTANT,PROJECT ASSISTANT VACANCIES

According to conservative POPs NIP estimates, UPOPs releases in Nigeria total approximately 5,400 g I-TEQ annually, with the bulk these emissions originating from uncontrolled burning of municipal waste, as well as from agricultural land clearing practices.
The Federal Ministry of Environment, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) have put up a project in Nigeria to assist in the reduction of Unintended Persistent Organic Pollutants (UPOPs) from two different sources open burning collected waste and open burning of uncollected waste. It is estimated that the total UPOPs releases from open burning of MAW in Nigeria is approximately 5,300 g l-TEQ/a.
The aim of this FMoE/UNDP GEF UPOPs project is to lower the barriers for introducing non-burning waste management for MAW and demonstrate BAT/BEP approaches for wide replication throughout the country.In view of this, the Federal Ministry of Environment is looking for professionals to fill the following positions:
(1) Position:Project Accountant
Qualifications
- University degree in accounting, finance or related fields with at least year’s experience.
- Solid experience of budgeting, planning and reporting on foreign funded projects; and
experience with international auditing requirements.

Description of Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly advance requests to get advance funds from UNDP in the format
applicable.
- Assist the PM and NPD in project budget monitoring and project budget revision.
- Set up accounting system, including reporting forms and filling system for the project, in
accordance with the project document and the NEX procedures;
- Maintain petty cash transactions. This includes writing of receipts, preparation of payment
request form, receipt and disbursement of cash and clearance of advances;
- Prepare project financial reports and submit to PM and NPD for clearance and furnish to
UNDP as required
- Enter financial transactions into the computerized accounting System:
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and keep a file of all complex reconciliation;
(2) Position:Project Assistant
Qualifications
- University degree in the sciences and environmental management fields with at least 2 years
experience
- Solid experience of budgeting, planning and reporting on foreign funded projects; and
experience with international auditing requirements.
- Good organizational capacity:
Description of Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in the operational management of the project according to the project
document and the NEX procedures
- Undertake all preparation work for procurement of office equipment, stationeries and support
facilities as required;
- Provide support in preparing project events, including workshops, meetings (monthly,
quarterly and annual), study tours, trainings, etc
- Assist with preparation of TORs and contracts for consultants for project activities.
