Our client seeks to employ an Internal Auditor whose key responsibility would be to create a framework for internal audit processes for a diverse group of companies. Additional requirements are outlined below.
Responsibilities:-
- Create a framework for internal audit processes for a diverse group of companies
- Develop a risk based internal audit plan for each financial year
- Ensure reliability of financial reporting to the Board of Directors and Regulatory authorities
- Ensure harmonization and uniformity of internal control standards in all companies
- Develop and ensure compliance to policy and process manuals
- Supervise system and operational audits
- Implement systems and processes to prevent and/or detect frauds and errors early
- Provide advice and support on audit issues to the Board of Directors
- Liaise with external auditors on financial reporting
- Work with diverse teams to ensure that agreed internal audit recommendations are applied
and embedded
- Provide support and information on audit issues to management and the respective Board of
Directors of businesses reviewed
Age:- Between 35 – 40 years
Qualification:- First degree – Bsc. / HND in an Accounting or Finance discipline, Relevant
professional qualification (ACCA, ANAN or ACA) MBA or MSC in Accounting or
any other related discipline will be an added advantage
Experience:- Minimum of ten (10) years experience. At least five (5) of which must have been spent in an audit firm or internal control/audit function in an established organization
Required skills/attributes:-
- Sound knowledge of accounting and audit policies and processes
- Independence and impartiality of mind
- Good knowledge of regulatory environment
- Good planning, decision making and presentation skills
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Strong leadership capacity and maturity
- Knowledge of a variety of business spanning financial services, hospitality and light manufacturing.
