INTERNATIONAL CALLING CARD MANAGER,HEAD TECHNICAL,LEGAL ADVISER VACANCIES AT GLOBACOM LIMITED

Globalcom Limited is Nigeria’s second National Operator providing GSM, Fixed Broadband and Gateway services with subsidiaries in Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and other West African countries. We have just launched the commercial services of Glo 1 submarine cable. It’s the only direct undersea cable from London to Lagos, and 13 other African countries, with a dedicated link to America. All connecting seamlessly into Glo’s 10,000 kilometres of fibre-optic backbone throughout Nigeria. In fact, Glo 1 has created the only completely end to end communications network in the region.
With Points of Presence (POP) in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Virtual POPs in France and Germany, Glo Gateway services manage roaming connections, voice and data traffic both in the local and international markets.
The company needs capable professionals who can fill various positions in Glo Gateway. The positions attract internationally competitive remuneration.
(1)Position: International Calling Card Manager
REF: ICCM
Qualifications:
Relevant university degree are required
A degree in Economics, Marketing or Business related discipline is preferred.
Relevant post graduate or professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
11-14 years cognate experience with a minimum of 3 years in handling international calling cards,
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access.
Responsibilities
Launch and manage international calling card and top up products globally.
Business terms negotiations (commercial, operational & legal)
Product development & management (calling card, top up etc) Sack end liaisons (Platform support interfacing)
Business development / entry of Glo products in Nigerian immigrant communities in USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain etc.
Develop sales plan and supervise deployment in new markets.
(2)Position: Head, Technical

Qualifications:

Relevant university degree are required
A degree in Electrical/Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering is preferred,
Relevant post graduate or professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
15-18 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior technical position for an international voice wholesale/ retail business.
Good exposure in managing VSAT network and operations.
Good working knowledge on high end Cisco/Juniper Routers, digital cross connect equipment compression equipment, international engineering and signaling protocol,
Responsibilities
Evaluate, plan, design and commission of International Gateways for establishing connectivity with international carriers and POte.
Build POPs as needed,
Design systems architecture, network deployment and network capacity management/forecasting.
Work in close co-ordination with networking planning, business planning and account managers for launch of new services with most cost effective solutions as per business plan.
Manage international roaming with various international service providers / STPs / Roaming Hubs,
Handle disaster recovery during network collapse by effectively re-routing the traffic over alternate paths.
(3)Position: Legal Counsel
REF: LC
Qualifications
Bachelor of Law Degree from a recognized university.
Call to Bar Certificate,
Post graduate degree will be an added advantage,
Experience
Minimum of 10 years post call to bar experience.
Experience in cross border transactions,
Experience In a multinational environment and/or taxation related issues would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Draft various legal documents required for managing relationship with global carriers, domestic carriers, calling card operators and mobile virtual network enabler for business related to voice interconnect, top up cards, internet leased lines and international private leased circuits.
Support roaming team on designing roaming documents like IR21, deviations, etc,
Design and document the purchase orders, memorandum of understanding (MOU), service level agreements (SLA) etc. for vendors and systems integrators.
Support sales and network teams for agreements related to mutual contracts on swaps and barter programs for internet leased lines and international private leased circuits.
